Vergelegen Mill Race Red 2022 is an opulent Bordeaux-style blend that balances elegance with expressive fruit. Born from the north- and north-westerly vineyards of Vergelegenflanked by soils of granite, Hutton, and weathered shalethis wine is a rich, textural delight.

This blend comprises roughly 41% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and a hint of Petit Verdot rounding it out. After fermentation with extended skin contact, it underwent malolactic fermentation before aging in French oak (about 15% new) for 12 to 18 months.

Nose: Rich red berries, including cassis, layered with cedar, spice, and subtle floral notes.

Palate: Plush, velvety texture reveals dark chocolate shavings alongside juicy red fruit. The wine features a balanced mid-palate with ripe tannins and depth.

Finish: A smooth, plush finish with persistent fruit and refined spice.
