You might remember that Glenfiddich released two experimental expressions about a year ago; the IPA experimentand the Project XX. Nowwe have the third experimental expression, the Glenfiddich Winter Storm – Experimental Series 03, released late 2017.

Inspired by Malt Master Brian Kinsman’s visit to the Peller Estate winery in Canada where they use grapes frozen on the vine to create a dessert wine. Matured for 21 years, the Glenfiddich single malt is then finished in these ice-wine casks for up to six months.

Nose:A bouquet of tropical fruit and candied sweets are perfectly balanced with underlying wine notes.

Palate:Soft sweet notes reminiscent of candied fruit and Turkish delight develop into flavours of mouth watering lychee. The fusion of sweet flavours is soon met with a rich drying sensation from the ice-wine.

Finish:Short and crisp.
