Casa San Matias is owned and operated by Carmen Villarreal Trevio, the first female in the Tequila industry to hold this position. Coming to fame by producing the first extra aged tequila to hit the market, San Matias Gran Reserva in 1993, theyve since expanded their offerings as well as operations. The heritage distillery, Ojo de Agua, sits on top of a natural spring near the highland town of Tepatitlan where their estate agave is also grown.

• Rich with caramel, vanilla and the pure brown spice that cooked agave should be, this Extra Aejo is one of the best we have tasted.
• With additional notes of dried fruit, butterscotch and hints of dark chocolate on the nose, its full body brings out additional flavors of dark plum and cherry. The finish is butterscotch and a hint of dark chocolate balanced with mild heat. It shows balance and restraint on the oak and sweetness, letting the tequila itself shine.
